CMU 23/24 Season Casting
I am heading into my final year at Carnegie Mellon University, which means I have been blessed with new
shows to participate in. As I am not going abroad in the fall semester, an option for us seniors, I will be in
three productions, one of which, however, with an outside company. In the Fall Semester, I will be playing
Nora in “A Dolls House”. This was a world-changing play written by Henrik Ibsen, first performed in 1879,
now rewritten by our director Jasmine Roth and set in the present day. I was lucky enough to see the Current
Broadway Revival with Jessica Chastain, and it truly blew me away. I am excited to perform in such a powerful
role on the Chosky Stage.
In the Second Half of the Fall Semester, I will actually be performing at the Pittsburgh City Theatre, along
with my classmates Sophia Macy and Leyla Davis. This will be “Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberely”,
directed by the wonderful Senior Associate Head and Professor of Acting, Kyle Haden. I will be playing the
role of Lydia! It is such a fun and festive show, and I am looking forward to working with new people, playing
in a new space, and working on a longer run of a show.
In my final Spring Semester of CMU, along with the preparations of Showcase and Graduation, I will be
performing in our Senior Musical, “A Little Night Music” in the role of Anne. This production is to be directed
by the wonderful Justin Lucero, and music directed by one of my favorite teachers, Rick Edinger. I have loved
growing up with my class, and this will be such a beautiful conclusion to all we have learnt at this school.
Not to mention getting to sing a beautiful score, act in a role I identify with, and get to wear marvelous
costumes!!!
I have been blessed with the productions I will be a part of this upcoming year, and cannot wait to dive head
first and work vigorously on all of the roles. It is going to be a wonderful finale to my training!
